Contract Food Service - HealthCare Sales Person

 

SEEKING: Foodservice - Healthcare Sales Specialist

(Contract position – long term potential)
Vancouver, BC

We are an innovative sales solution company that provides manufacturers a unique sales alternative.

This position will be representing an established International Company that is already listed with distributors in Canada. The primary focus will be on growing their existing business in British Columbia and supporting exciting new product launches. Products are specialized to meet specials needs of dysphagia and nutritionally at risk residents/patients.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years sales experience in healthcare foodservice.  Ideally you should understand the BC healthcare marketplace complexities such as:  Health Authorities, Buying Groups, Chains and Distributors.  Knowledge of foodservice in Long Term Care would be very beneficial. An understanding of the Alberta Health Services and marketplace would be ideal but not mandatory.  This is a great opportunity with potential to be a long-term contract for anyone with dietetic credentials, nutrition background and/or foodservice, healthcare sales experience.

This individual should work well independently, be self-motivated, disciplined, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the BC healthcare market place. This opportunity is ideal for someone seeking a work/life balance.  Must have a valid driver’s licence and vehicle.


Year One (build customer relationships, credibility and sales)

  • 20 hours or 2.5 days / week equivalent (phone sales - 70% / field calls in person - 30%)
  • Establish connection with Distributor regional offices (live and/or via phone)
  • Establish connection and target BC Health Authorities  (6)
  • Connect with Alberta Health Services (establish relationship)
  •  Set up display and participate in Healthcare foodservice shows i.e. Sysco, GFS etc.
  •  Participate in at least 3 Healthcare food shows  
  •  intoGREAT to provide LTC list, Hospitals and Health Authority (TBD)
  •  intoGREAT to provide Distributor regional office contacts


CONTRACT starts: March 01, 2018 – October 31, 2018 (Based on client fiscal year)

Long-term outlook: Extend contract November 01, 2018 – Oct. 31, 2019+

Job Summary

The Coordinator, Support Services supervises and coordinates the day-to-day activities of Food Services and Housekeeping Services at designated sites and also oversees Laundry Services and Stores where applicable. The incumbent implements policies and procedures, manages human resources, participates in cost control measures and maintains relevant records. The position also completes special project work, as assigned. The incumbent assumes responsibility for the departments in the areas of responsibility in the absence of the Manager of Support Services.
Qualifications:
·         Bachelor’s degree in the Nutrition/Dietetics field with one (1) to three (3) years’ recent experience in a similar role in a healthcare organization or industry of moderate complexity, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
·         Member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of BC and Dietitians of Canada.
OR
·         Successful completion of a two (2) year Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) accredited college program in food service and nutrition management;
·         Courses in management and supervision;
·         Three (3) to five (5) years recent, related experience in an acute care or long-term care facility;
·         Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
·         Eligible for membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management.
Plus:
·         Certificate of proficiency in Laundry and/or Housekeeping.
·         Food Safe Level 1 and 2.
·         Experience with CBORD Food and Nutrition, or other diet software, an asset.
·         Valid BC Driver’s License and access to reliable vehicle.

Accountabilities:
As the General  Manager at our Healthcare account, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of employees and successfully coordinating and directing on the floor food service activities. Growth and Development:

5-6 years working with operations, finance, inventory, financial statements experience at the managerial/supervisory level
Proven success in managing food services operations in a healthcare setting an asset
Effective oral and written communication skills are needed
