Description

Aramark is seeking a Support Services Manager who will be primarily responsible for daily operations of the food service department along with housekeeping at a 120 - 130 resident independent living community in Port Coquitlam.
The Support Services Manager plans, administers and directs all unit activities related to food service and housekeeping including Aramark and client financial accountability, and compliance with the standards established by Aramark Healthcare, regulatory agencies and client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivers strong operational performance by executing against Aramark Healthcare and regulatory agency standards and programs, continually monitoring operations, and completing assessments and necessary action plans to provide optimal food quality and meal service, and drive patient and customer satisfaction.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified food service experience for patients, residents, visitors and employees.
  • Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
  • Interacts with Client Management and maintains effective client and customer relations at all levels of client organization, including conducting rounding. Identifies Aramark service expansion opportunities.
  • Provides overall direction and manages performance for all Food Service Supervisors and front line employees, ensuring employee development, engagement and compliance with human resource related policies and standards, including conducting applicable rounding.
  • Directs, staffs, and trains food service department regarding food presentation, quality, cost control, and cash handling. Ensures the same for any other services provided as part of the contract
  • Schedule and coordinate staff to perform both weekly and less periodic housekeeping routines for resident rooms and common areas
  • Ensuring right SOP’s are being followed based on Aramark practices and principles while monitoring efficiencies and standards
  • Develops operational component forecasts and is able to explain variances. Responsible for component's accounting functions.
  • Ensures compliance with all contract obligations.

Qualifications


  • Minimum 3-5 years of management experience.
  • Healthcare food service management, hospitality or dining room experience is preferred.
  • The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services, and building and growing a strong business.
  • Ability to communicate (listening, verbal and written) effectively with clients, customers of the client and support staff.
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing demands.
  • Ability to write business letters, summaries and reports, using prescribed format and conform to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Requires strong management and leadership skills, and the ability to work with confidential employee, client, and Aramark information.
  • P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is desirable.
  • Strong cooking abilities and Red Seal ceritification are an asset.

Description:
The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for co-coordinating food production, meal preparation and ensuring all staff maintains the standards for quality and service at all times. The Food Service Supervisor also ensures that safe work practices are followed and all sanitation standards are met.

The Diet Technician is responsible for ensuring diet orders are compliant and meet the provisions for nutritional care as determined by the RD to inpatients and outpatients using our nutrition software program. The diet technician is the liaison between clinical nutrition and food services.

General Duties:

  •  Provides work direction, supervision and on-going training to all assigned staff in a manner which establishes and maintains high staff morale
  •  Assists in scheduling, payroll and performance management as assigned
  •  Promotes and maintains excellent customer relations and effective on-going communication with all levels of staff
  •  Places orders, maintains accurate and timely inventories and provides daily reports related to cost control.

  •  Supports the Safety Program and reports all injuries and hazardous conditions immediately

ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Event Planner, the Event Coordinator assists with the initial stages of event planning and is responsible for meeting, greeting and building relationships with clients and industry professionals. This position is responsible for creating Banquet Event Orders by working directly with client files and invoicing of events for the Catering and Events Department. The Coordinator works on events for up to 300 people. The planner also works very closely with the Banquet Department and Culinary Department and other key departments that have a hand in catered events both on site and for off-site events.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assisting in the initial stages of planning events:
  • Conducting sight inspections and tours as required for prospective clients and representatives of the convention and hospitality industry;
  • Fostering excellent relationships with prospective and current clients through professional communication using a variety of communication tools with emphasis on in-person meetings, on site visits and knowledge of Vancouver Aquarium, its offerings and Ocean Wise programs;
  • Working closely with Event Planner to ensure all aspects are effectively delivered;
  • Utilizing all relevant sales and marketing materials and assisting to ensure that all collateral is updated.
  • Determining client needs and expectations and bringing together the appropriate internal team members to execute projects and events;
  • Completing appropriate documentation to ensure a seamless handover to Banquets for execution of events;
  • Processing of bookings through the property management system;
  • Attending meetings and events of major importance throughout the organization
Building relationships with clients and industry professionals by:
  • Answering inquiries and providing information about the venue to clients in a timely manner;
  • Ensuring a timely execution of correspondence: email, sales kits, quotes, etc.
  • Attending relevant tradeshows and networking events in the absence of Planner and/or Sales Manager
  • Hosting site inspections and FAMS for tour operators and DMOs;
Ensures billing and administrative tasks are completed by:
  • Adapting and maintaining event management software for its effective use at Ocean Wise;
  • Following appropriate procedures for invoicing, collection and follow-up of payment;
  • Participating in administrative duties as required;
  • Managing and updating Event Sheets, Event Debtors, Event Clearance; excel sheets
  • Maintaining clear and organized event files for each contracted event.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
  • Post secondary diploma in event and/or hospitality management, tourism or a closely related area is preferred;

Reporting to the Senior Operations Leader, and in accordance with the Mission, Vision & Values of Little Mountain Residential Care & Housing Society, the Manager of Support Services is responsible for the overall leadership, operations and staffing of Food Services, Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance Services at Little Mountain Place.

Responsibilities
Including but not limited to:
