WORK PERFORMED

        Management and support for associates in the Food Service Department.

  • Evaluates performance of direct subordinates, documenting concerns and progress.  Prepares performance appraisals of subordinates and reviews appraisal with employees annually.
  • Completing payroll functions for the Food Service Department.
  • Ensure Occupational Health and Safety is practiced in the workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum two years previous Management experience or equivalent supervisory role in a long term healthcare setting

15.    Coordinates regular department meetings and participates in facility based meetings such as site leadership, OH & S, and others as required.   
16.    Works with other facility departments in the planning & delivery of special events / meals and programs as required.  
17.    Plans, directs and implements contingency plans in response to emergencies and / or challenges to or interruptions in services.
18.    Understands and participates in quality improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

1.    Graduation from a recognized program in Nutrition and Food Services Management

3.    Food Safe Level 1 mandatory; Level 2 an asset
4.    A minimum of two years Support Services (Food Services / HSPK & LNDY) supervisory experience in a geriatric residential setting including direct experience managing staff.

    • Help the Manager oversee the food services operations
    • Develop and monitor a meal and break schedule for the staff that does not interfere with customer service.
    • Train, develop and lead a team of associates capable of providing great customer service.
    • Monitor and organize catering orders with weekly invoicing.
    • Perform administrative duties, including: cash register readings, orbit, inventory, banking, ordering and the administration of the “Be a Star Program.”
    • Be accountable for client and customer relationship building.
    • Ensure strict compliance of Compass Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Programs.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Strong supervisory skills and the proven ability to motivate, lead and coach staff.
    • A passion for Customer Service excellence.
    • Mental ability to provide excellent judgment for problem-solving and strong arithmetic skills.
    • Detail-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

    • Superior client relationship skills.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Strong proficiency in computer skills, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
    • Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule (including evenings and weekends).
