Take part in the CSNM Member Focus Groups

Your CSNM Board of Directors has been busy behind the scenes preparing for our upcoming Strategic Planning Session. This typically happens every three years, and this year is the year we will set in motion the plan for 2020 – 2022.

Through member surveys, we have heard from you on a wide range of issues affecting you as a Nutrition Manager and the benefit and value you receive from your CSNM Membership. This year's planning began back in May. Working with our Facilitator, Kristin Arnold, she has worked with the Board to narrow down “strategic topics” that have come out loud and clear from members, board members and other CSNM stakeholders.

To this end, we are hosting a series of focus groups, each with a different focus topic. You are invited to attend any sessions that are of interest to you and to be part of the conversation. Each focus group session will be moderated by one of our Board members with the hopes of answering the following questions:
  • What is the current state for the process topic?
    And What are the key trends that relate to this process topic
  • What is the desired state/desired vision for the process topic?
    (you can include a 3-5 year vision)
  • What are the issues/challenges factors that we should be aware of related to this process topic?
  • What are the desired outcomes for this process topic?
  • What are the specific recommendations for this process topic?
Each focus group will last no longer than one hour and all will start at 7:30 pm ET. These calls will be held via Zoom – you may log in and join using your computer or by phone. Program Coordinator - Food for Thought Program

Job Description
Hope for the Nations is seeking a Program Coordinator who will be responsible for supporting both the program delivery and volunteer coordination for our local Food for Thought Program.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic, self-motivated and experienced Program Coordinator who reports directly to and will work in partnership with the Executive Director of Hope for the Nations.

Interaction:
This position will interact closely with members from across the organization, local community, volunteers and SD23 staff. This position may provide information to donors, potential donors, individuals in need, volunteers, HOPE Board and staff, and others from the community.

Qualifications:
  • Strong background and understanding of financials, budgeting and reporting skills is required.
  • Knowledge, expertise and experience in fund development, including but not limited to fund development, seeking out grant opportunities, writing grants and ensuring a flawless grant tracking and reporting system is required.
  • Written and communication skills; strong interpersonal, planning and training skills; organized, systems-thinker with experience in program coordination.
  • Competent computer and Social Media skills and use of programs as Word, Excel, Power Point, and related programs necessary.
  • Comfortable with recruiting, training and overseeing a volunteer team.
  • Flexible team player and collaborator, ability to work well with a variety of people, strong public presence, ability to handle multiple projects well. Bachelor’s Degree and experience in the non-profit community for a minimum of 2 years is considered an asset.

Reporting to the District Manager, the Food Service Director will be accountable for the delivery of the highest levels of customer and food service at an addiction treatment facility near Duncan, BC. You and your culinary team will be an important piece in the support team for a client's well being and recovery.

Food Service Manager - Salvation Army

Responsibilities

  • Creates, develops and revises the menu as necessary, ensuring special dietary needs of residents are met

Qualifications

Senior Food Service Representative - Vancouver Aquarium



ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Outlet Manager, this role provides the highest level of front line customer service to Aquarium visitors to ensure smooth delivery of food and beverages. Working in a fast paced high volume restaurant environment the Senior Food Service Representative (SFSR) is responsible for processing customer orders through cash, debit and credit transactions, preparing and assembling food orders, and maintains the overall cleanliness of the café and surrounding areas.

  • Assisting customers with food and beverage issues and escalating concerns as needed.

  • Accountable for verifying information of the patient diet orders according to the prescribed patient care plan, which includes proper food texture, patient food preferences and food allergies awareness.
  • Inputs diet orders and information received from the Nursing department into CBORD system.
  • Ensure patient menus and other reports are prepared and printed accurately and on time.
  • Participates in patient visitations, auditing and quality control checks, and communicate with food service production department on patient needs and service requirements.
  • Arranges call-ins for staffing replacements.

  • Degree in Nutrition/ Diploma in Food and Nutrition Management
  • Active, or eligible member of the CSNM (Canadian Society of Nutrition Management)
  • Previous experience in healthcare dietary (as a Diet Technician) experience preferred, but NOT essential. Demonstrated knowledge of therapeutic diets is required
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills in a fast-paced environment

Causal Food Service Supervisor - Naniamo, BC

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of Island Health (Vancouver Island Health Authority), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Utilizing a variety of computerized applications, the Food Service Supervisor/Technician is responsible for implementing and adjusting individual meal plans for clients on therapeutic diets. The Food Service Supervisor/ Technician meets time sensitive diet administration duties for multi-sites, ensuring nutrition and diet standards are met, and performing various related administrative duties. The Food Services Supervisor/Technician is responsible for overseeing and participating in the delivery of food services to patients, residents, customers and clients; supervising Cooks and other designated staff for a multi-site organization: maintaining supplies, ensuring safety, quality and sanitation standards are met.
Reports to manager or designate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

Graduation from a recognized two-year program in Food Service Supervision plus one (1) year's recent related experience. Certificate in Food Safe Level 2.
