JOB SUMMARY
Position: Food Services Supervisor
Job Location: Mission, BC
Type: Full-time, Fixed Term Contract (8 months)
Salary: $45,000 - $47,000 a year

Work Performed:
  • Assist the Director of Food Services to supervise multiple food service units.
  • Supervise the production of menu items, manage associates, schedule staff working hours, hire and train employees.
  • Learn from and assist the Director of Food Services to resolve employee relation issues, track and produce reports on weekly inventories, labour and food cost.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Compass’ Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.
  • Coordinate frequent workplace inspections and WHMIS training of all staff and promptly report any workplace accident or incident to head office.
  • Ensure Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards are followed in the food preparation process.

    Qualification:
    • At least one year of strong operation food industry supervisory experience
    • Comprehensive health and safety knowledge and training.
    • Knowledge of food service catering.
    • Strong supervisory skills and the capability to motivate and lead staff.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

          Support Services Manager - Chilliwack

            

          JOB SUMMARY
          Position: Support Services Manager

          Work Performed:
          • Implement and conduct training sessions and coordinate an annual training calendar at site for all housekeeping and laundry staff.

          • Participate in the budgeting process and the ongoing financial management of the housekeeping and laundry departments.
          • Ensure all Compass HR programs are in place and complete for housekeeping and laundry staff, including CHAT, Be-A-Star, HERO, Weekly Safety Minders, etc.
          • Recommend equipment and supplies needed for housekeeping and laundry operations.
          • Conduct hands-on daily maintenance (physical building maintenance required for this role-including floor care/cleaning and some snow blowing during winter).
          • Act as the main liaison with the Environmental Public Health officer and other regulatory bodies, as applicable as it relates to environmental services.
          • Participate in the completion of the Balanced Scorecard for the unit.
          • Meet and check-in with the client on a regular basis and attend meetings as requested.
          • Take the lead and coordinate schedules for environmental special projects.

            Qualification:
            • Three years of management / supervisory experience in healthcare, facilities, environmental services and or hotel.
            • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
            • Proficient computer skills, specifically with Windows.

                                                    • Plan and deliver catering events, special meals and programs as required.
                                                    Housekeeping:
                                                    • Oversee the cleaning procedures of the environment.
                                                    • Coordinate cleaning schedules of the facility and ensure processes follow infection prevention practices.
                                                    Other:
                                                    • Participate as a member of the management team by attending meetings and serving on Committees (i.e. Occupational Health & Safety) as required.
                                                    • Identifies and implements systems and processes that ensure the facility remains fully operational during emergency situations.
                                                    • Build effective working relationships with individuals within and outside the organization including residents, families, vendors, contractors, health authorities, licensing bodies and other external agencies.
                                                    • Performs other related duties as required
                                                    • Conduct all fire Drills and other emergency drills as per the facility Policy.
                                                    Qualifications:

                                                    • Member of Canadian Society of Nutrition Management and/or Registrant of College of Dietitians of BC mandatory
                                                    • Culinary certificate from recognized Institution preferred
                                                    • Previous working experience in long term care and assisted living facility
                                                    • Food Safe Certificate Level 1 & 2
                                                    • WHIMS certificate
                                                    • Must obtain a Criminal Record Check clearance performed by BC Ministry of Public Safety & Solicitor General
                                                    • Vaccinations as required by the Facility
