Accountabilities:
As the Food Service Manager at our large post-secondary school, you will be responsible for the supervision of staff activities, the assignment of daily activities, and the communication of company goals. You will be responsible for maintaining and enforcing all policies and procedures, as well as training and developing staff. You will follow all the different Sodexo Programs: Food Safety, Health and Safety, as well as policies and procedures.

Growth and Development:
Red Seal Certificate or equivalent, diploma in culinary management or culinary arts program
5 years + managing similar type of business with multiple food outlets
5+ years’ experience in a similar position, with emphasis on team supervision
Experience overseeing methods of preparation, portion sizes, and timelines of food control and food usage to track and minimize waste
Proven experience managing high volume Food departments
Very high energy
Able to work to high standards as well as policies and procedures
Impeccable client relations
Must possess strong team building skills
Must be very well organized and effective with planning, and time management skills
Must be very friendly, outgoing, customer service oriented
Must be willing to work long hours on occasion
Must have experience in opening restaurants or food service outlets using process driven tools to do so
Must have experience and proven track record for training culinary brigade,
Must have experience in developing menus (including testing and costing)
Multi-unit management experience required
Excellent culinary Skills
Experience and knowledge of upscale casual dining & catering
Must be a good food cost controller
Proven track record with menu planning & costing
Experience ensuring strict adherence to HACCP and other health and safety regulations
Must Demonstrated experience in selecting, managing and leading a diverse team (including employee selection, training and development, problem-solving/coaching, and discipline)
Must demonstrate a Strong mathematical skills for Inventory, Budgeting, Food costing and Variance adjustments (required for fluctuating productions based on occupancy)
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives in a high volume environment
