Food Service Supervisor/Diet Tech (Part-Time)

Position:  Food Service Supervisor/Diet Tech

Location:  Vancouver, B.C  

Schedule:           Flexibility to work additional or changed hours would be an asset.

The Food Service Supervisor/Diet Tech is responsible for co-ordinating food production and ensuring that supervised staff maintains the standards for quality and service at all times. The Food Service Supervisor/Diet Tech also ensures that safe work practices are followed and all sanitation standards are met.
  
Duties:

  • Diet writing and checking trayline.
  • Processing new admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Supervising, training, and scheduling of staff.
  • Conducting and participating in staff meetings as assigned.
  • Monitoring and evaluating meal preparation and service to ensure established standards are maintained for both quality and quantity of all meals and snacks.
  • Communicating with nursing, clients, and their families.
  • Conducting audits and inspections and establishing corrective action.
  • Supporting the safety program and reporting all injuries and hazardous conditions immediately.
  • Ensuring that employees work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.
  • Ensuring that equipment is safe and that healthy work conditions are maintained in assigned areas.
  • Conducting meal rounds
  • Ordering products in accordance with Sodexo’s buying specifications.
  • Maintaining inventory control.
  • Processing cash deposits and preparing cash reports.


Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Nutrition & Food Service Management or Degree in Dietetics.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management.
  • Proficient knowledge of therapeutic diets and diet writing.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency on the computer.
  • Current vaccinations.
  • HACCP, WHMIS training.
