Session Description
Join Sabrina Bovee, Registered Dietitian and Manager of a Sask Health Authority Long-term care home for a webinar on improving the dining experience of older adults. This presentation will draw from Sabrina's experience with long-term care, adult day programs, and assisted living. Sabrina is known for her storytelling and engaging ways in which she enables the audience to empathize with their clients. Her presentation will share two non-proprietary tools that she has co-created for health care professionals across Canada: The mealtime management video, a basic and essential video for all staff. She will briefly explain the rationale and research behind this video, and how it can be accessed on youtube to view at orientations and in-house education. She will also share some information about the local vegetable garden donation program that she implemented with her team. This program was presented and accepted with open arms at the national public health inspector conference in 2018. The webinar will equip you with tangible and tactile ideas to take back to your team. You are guaranteed to leave inspired to try something new and want to do more work to enhance your resident's dining experience this new year.
