Session Description
Addressing some of the concerns noted in the 2019 LTC Ontario Auditor-General Report, this presentation will focus on foodborne illness, the causes, and how to best prevent and control potential outbreaks. From proper food storage to personal hygiene, there is a lot that can be done to control food safety hazards. This presentation is relevant for anyone who works in a foodservice operation that may serve vulnerable populations.
About Kaela King, RD
Kaela is a Registered Dietitian based in Vancouver, BC. She is originally from Nova Scotia and completed her degree in Applied Human Nutrition at Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax. Her previous experience includes 5 years as both a Clinical Dietitian and Food Service Manager in Long Term Care. Currently, she works at Gordon Food Service as their Regional Dietitian for Western Canada. She works with customers to help them in the areas of nutrition & health, menu planning, and staff education.
