The Hamlets at Duncan is looking for a unique individual who is self-motivated, creative, and outgoing to be part of our Leadership Team!

WORK PERFORMED 
Reporting to the General Manager, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Support Services Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Food Services, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Laundry Departments, with the goal of providing the best possible experience to our residents and uppermost support to our team members.

QUALIFICATIONS 
  • A Food Service diploma or certification from an accredited post-secondary institute, or a combination of education and experience in a position as a Food Service Supervisor specific to health care, or certificate/diploma from a recognized chef’s training program;
  • Possesses CSNM certificate or the capacity to achieve this designation within 12 months of hire
  • Three years experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a health care environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food service and delivery programs;
  • An understanding of HCAAP and the Community Care and Assisted Living Act – Adult Regulations;
  • WHIMS;
  • Must possess the personal qualities and attitudes that respect and maintain the spirit, dignity and individuality of the residents;
  • Must be in good health, free from any communicable diseases and physically and mentally able to carry out the assigned duties in the working environment;
  • Must have excellent verbal and written English language skills;
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively
  • Must possess above average organizational skills, and effectively supervise and evaluate subordinates and overall departmental functioning;
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relations by displaying tact, courtesy and patience with subordinates, residents, families, visitors and volunteers.
