Salary: $45,000 to $52,000 a year
WORK PERFORMED
Manage all aspects of our kitchen and dining room with the objective of delivering superior food and beverage service to maximize our resident’s satisfaction alongside controlling operational cost and identifying measures to cut waste.
This includes leading the food services team of 7 full time unionized staff and our casual support staff, control purchasing and inventory, negotiating contracts, developing preferred supplier relationships, review and evaluate food usage.
Manage all aspects of financial data and information including payroll, monthly financial statements, rent roll and board meeting financial reports using SAGE with the support of others from the administration and management team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of three (3) years of food service management experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of bookkeeping experience.
- Passion for numbers, attention to detail and order.
- Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and interpersonal.
- Proficient with Sage, MS Office and online ordering systems.
- Proven knowledge of nutritional needs of seniors, Food Safety Act and OH&S Act.
An asset to have:
- Supervisory experience in a unionized Retirement Residence.
- Experience in large quantity food purchasing and preparation.
- Food safe I and II certification.
- Level I First Aid.
Experience:
- Kitchen Management: 3 years (Required)
- Bookkeeping: 3 years (Required)
