Mess Manager, Canadian Forces Morale & Welfare Services



Under the direction of the Deputy Manager, PSP, the Mess Manager plans, coordinates, manages, monitors, and evaluates the operations and delivery of messes’ activities and facilities. She/he plans, coordinates, manages, monitors, and evaluates the operations and delivery of bars’ services. She/he enforces the requirements for health, hygiene, safety, and security standards and programs. She/he ensures strict enforcement of provincial liquor legislation and DND, CF, and Wing policies concerning the responsible serving of alcohol, employee drinking restrictions, and customer behaviour. She/he develops and implements marketing strategy for messes’ activities and facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
  •  College diploma or certificate in hospitality, food service management, or a related field AND some years of experience in hospitality or food and beverage service sector 
OR
  • High school diploma AND several years of experience in the food service sector, or in a related hospitality field, including supervisory experience

AND 
  • Serving It Right Certificate

SKILLS NEEDED:
  • budget management, 
  • personnel management, 
  • bar operations, 
  • event coordination
  • food and beverage management applying policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation, 
  • coordinating banquets and functions,
  •  inventory and bar management
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Salary: $55,150.00 to $64,880.00 /year
Experience:  management: 1 year (Preferred)
