Food Service Supervisor

40 hours per week - Wednesday through Sunday

Oncore Seniors Society: Is a non-profit organization partnered with BC Housing to provide affordable suites for seniors with a low to medium income. With three amazing locations; Kamloops (2) and Prince George (1) we are proud to deliver a full range of food services, activities and community engagement for residents to enjoy, ensuring Oncore values and goals are met in order to achieve excellent client service and further growth. Riverbend Manor is an independent living senior’s residence. As part of the supported living component, the kitchen prepares three meals daily to be served in the dining room.

Position Description:

Reporting to the Prince George General Manager, the successful candidate will supervise the kitchen and dining room staff. In addition, they willprepare the orders, inventory, ensure compliance with public health guidelines, assist with planning the new menus, and complete an ongoing assessment to ensure a smooth-running operation. Developing and maintaining a healthy rapport with tenants will be critical to the success of the kitchen and the kitchen supervisor.

We look forward to hiring an enthusiastic kitchen supervisor. They will have a close relation with the General Manager and the Food Service Manager as this is who they will report to.

Responsibilities:
  • · Supervise and provide leadership to Kitchen and Dining Room staff.
  • · Participate in the recruitment and hiring of dining room staff
  • · Train Staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures.
  • · Monitoring product levels and preparing orders for the Food Service Manager.
  • · Assist with menu development and preparing standardized recipes
  • · Assist staff completing tasks when needed. Leads by example and works alongside their team members
  • · Prepare Quarterly inventory reports.
  • · Maintains Occupational Health and Safety Standards.
  • · Ensure annual mandatory education is offered and successfully completed
  • · Respond and communicate with tenants; recording feedback, handling complaints, and providing solutions.
  • · Assisting Residents with minor technological issues.
  • · Provide operational leadership on weekends and when General Manager is off site

Qualifications:

Education:

  • · Current food safe certificate
  • · Five years applicable experience in all aspects of food service
  • · Two plus years of supervisory and leadership experience with strong proven results.

Skills and Abilities

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $22.00 per hour
