JOB SUMMARY
Position: Retail Food Service Supervisor
Company: Sodexo - UBC Hospital
Job Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada
Type: Part-time, 30 hours M-F
Work Performed:
- Provides work direction, supervision and on-going training to all assigned staff in a manner which establishes and maintains high staff morale.
- Assists in scheduling, payroll and performance management as assigned.
- Promotes and maintains excellent customer relations and effective on-going communication with all levels of staff.
- Trains food service workers, following up to ensure an understanding of the material covered.
- Orders food supplies required for day to day operations; monitors and reviews cost controls, such as, labour costs, food costs and waste and overhead expenses, with unit manager
- Conducts weekly sanitation inspections and establishes corrective action.
- Conducts and participates in staff meetings as assigned.
- Relieves and assists food service workers as operationally required.
- Ensures that equipment and safe and healthy work conditions are maintained in their assigned area.
- Supports the Safety Program and reports all injuries and hazardous conditions immediately.
- Ensures that systems and procedures for daily sales, cash collections/controls, banking and ledger reconciliation are being followed; processes payments and deposits.
- Ensures all kitchen equipment and point of sale systems are in working order; reports and follows up on maintenance as required.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Food and Nutrition Management or Degree in Dietetics
- Current membership with CSNM, or current member of College of Dietitians
- English proficiency, verbal and written.
- Food Safe Certificate 1 & 2
- Current vaccinations, TB screening test, Hep A & B, Flu shot.
- Prior cash handling, POS usage in retail environment experience
