Food and Beverage Manager - Vancouver

JOB SUMMARY

Position: Food Services Supervisor
Job Location: Vancouver, BC
Company: The Sylvia Hotel
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Wage: $60,000 - $75,000 a year

Work Performed:
  • Oversee the Food and Beverage front of house operations and provide assistance where required
  • Provide leadership, development plans and coaching
  • Work closely with all department managers
  • Provide operational leadership and decision making on technical and incident related issues
  • Maintain a thorough and updated knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Manage hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • Identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, and cost-savings
  • Coordinate with the Exec. Chef for the preparation, presentation and service of Food and Beverage products to ensure highest quality at all times
  • Oversee the function of all Food and Beverage team members, facilities, sales and costs to ensure maximum departmental profit is achieved
  • Maintain a safe working environment in all sections of the Restaurant and Lounge

    Qualification:
    • Minimum 3 years management experience in a large scale Food and Beverage operation
    • Excellent verbal communication & interpersonal skills
    • Squirrel POS, Open Table experience an asset
    • Must have excellent presentation and be guest focused
    • Ability to adapt to the days circumstances
    • Fluency in written and oral communication in English
    • Able to implement operational change
    • Proven costing and pricing techniques
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks
    • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
