Dining Hall Assistant Food Services Manager - Burnaby

    

JOB SUMMARY
Position: Dining Hall Assistant Food Services Manager
Location: Simon Fraser University (Burnaby, BC)
Salary: $53,000

Work Performed:
  • Provide leadership to unit managers and associates, including supervision, training and corrective action
  • Maintain proper cash controls, inventory, labor and auditing
  • Ensure Customer Service standards are adhered to at all times; taking appropriate action when it is not
  • Respond to guest concerns immediately and ensure corrective action is taken to ensure every guest leaves happy
  • Accurately complete weekly administrative duties, including: Orbit, CIMS, Payroll, Inventory
  • Maintain100% compliance with all Quality Assurance programs, ensuring all associates have completed all required training
  • Maintain 100% compliance with all Compass H&S programs; completing monthly inspections
  • Able to respond to any associate injuries; accurately recording and reporting the appropriate forms within the required timeframe and issuing a Modified Work Plan
  • Resolves any associate issues or concerns quickly
  • Additional duties and tasks as required by the General Manager
  • Arrange cover for any associates that call in sick
  • Conduct Shift Briefings daily, communicating events and duties and shift goals
  • Complete cashier daily cash reconciliation and Cash & Sales Reports
  • Ensure all fridge and freezer temperatures are recorded accurately
  • Ensuring that staff are performing required job duties at all times
  • Ensure cleanliness of all areas at all times
  • Ensure that staff are wearing the appropriate uniform
  • Ensures HACCP standards and quality control procedures are maintained
  • Conduct regular QA and H&S audits at units to ensure 100% complianc
  • Ensure all Food Costs and Labour Costs are in line at each unit

    Qualification:
    • Minimum 2 year of Food Service Management experience, preferably in Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) environment.
    • Leadership qualities, ability to direct a diverse, experienced staff
    • Ability to learn new systems, programs and terminology
    • Efficient with Computers, including MS Office applications (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
    • Able to communicate well with a wide variety of people and building rapport
    • Team player, works productively with others
    • High energy, shows a sense of urgency
    • Works well under pressure, maintains a pleasant demeanor even under stress
    • Well organized and efficient, attentive to detail and able to multi task
