JOB SUMMARY

Position: Support Services Manager
Company: Private care facility
Job Location: Victoria, BC
Job Type: Permanent

Work Performed:
  • Managing approximately 80 staff members in kitchen, housekeeping and laundry staff at a care facility in Victoria.
  • Supervisory duties include scheduling of staff, performance management, hiring, conflict resolution, enforcing safety standards, etc.
  • Monitoring and preparing the food menu for the residence, keeping in mind dietary needs as well as effective cost management.
  • Ensure audits are completed as required.
  • Communicate safety policies and concerns through Staff meetings, memos, and communication records.
  • Facilitate WCB paperwork and corresponding return to work programs when applicable.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • CSNM (Certified in Nutritional Management with current standing in the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management) required.
  • 3 to 5 previous years' experience in a hospitality environment (such as hotels, cruise ships, retirement residences, or a culinary institution).
  • Previous Supervisory or Management experience is preferred.
  • Must be willing to be on-call in case of emergencies to ensure effective facility operation.
  • Valid Food Safe Level 1 and WHIMS Certificates.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check, including vulnerable sector.
  • Satisfactory proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • Compassionate attitude with a desire to implement positive leadership.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
