Work Performed:

  • Onboarding new FSMs and provide continuous training and support to optimize individual and team performance through effective leadership, mentoring and coaching
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant public health food safety regulations and occupational health and safety regulations/legislation
  • Ensures compliance with all Chartwell F&B program brand standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs) by using the food and beverage support checklist and brand experience assessment (BEA)
  • Supports Food Quality by ensuring compliance with Chartwell standard seasonal menus, recipes, production sheets and plate presentation
  • Supports F&B financial budget targets by training FSMs and GMs on the use of the Food Purchase Tracker
  • Monitors monthly food financial results and develops recovery plans for FSMs to maintain budget targets
  • Supports F&B Training to impact Employee Engagement and Resident Satisfaction by ensuring FSMs deliver in-service training to all cooks and servers by using the Chartwell standard Cook Training and Food Server Training program. RMF&B help facilitate training where required
  • Supports FSMs and GMs with setting goals to increase Chartwell Dining Services score in resident satisfaction
  • Supports DROs, GMs and FSMs with reviewing F&B work procedures and operational challenges to determine ways to reduce/eliminate inefficiencies and improve service, performance, and safety
  • Communicates effectively with all F&B team members and colleagues at levels of the company

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma in Food and Beverage Management from a recognized institution
  • Current in regional and provincial certifications (Food Handlers, Smart Serve, etc.)
  • Red Seal or equivalent an asset
  • Minimum 5 years Food and Beverage Management experience in the retirement living and/or hospitality business
  • Chef experience an asset
  • Dining Room Server or FOH experience an asset
  • Previous Regional Management experience an asset
