WORK PERFORMED

  • The Patient Food Services Manager reports to the Executive Director, Nutrition, Food, Linen & Environmental Services and is responsible for: 
  • The direction, leadership and organization of NFS priorities and operating plans supporting the vision, mission and business plan of AHS. 
  • Communication with clients, staff and colleagues to collaboratively problem solve and ensure service delivery meets client satisfaction and remains cost effective. 
  • Critically evaluates current state to create a service that is responsive to changes within the organization, meets demands and seeks opportunities for improvement. 
  • Focus on results by actively participating in benchmark and operational best practice measures to achieve target outcomes. This position is located in South Zone and is accountable for all rural sites (12). 
  • The manager ensures all patient food services at their sites complies with approved provincial standards and regulatory requirements. 
  • The Manager position is mid-level in the operations stream and could lead to other opportunities within Food Services Management.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Food Services management role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. 
  • Effective communication and organizational skills. 
  • Be client focused and committed to providing quality services. 
  • Demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within a fast-paced, time sensitive work environment. 
  • A proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals. 
  • A strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated ability to implement change and handle competing priorities without close supervision. 
  • Ability to work in a unionized environment.
