Position: Backcountry Food Services Manager

Pay range: $50,000–$60,000 a year
WORK PERFORMED
- Order inventory of food, supplies, and ensure equipment is maintained for the operation of an efficiently run kitchen while maintaining cost control objectives
 - Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
 - Menu planning
 - Create additional dinner recipes for dehydrating
 - Ensure consistent food preparation
 - Dehydrating meals
 - Packing out food for groups on both backcountry and front country single and multi day trips
 - Maintain and improve on efficiency of food pack outs and minimize food waste
 - Internal and external food order management
 - Maintaining compliance with operational health and safety standards
 - Assist with recruiting seasonal kitchen staff
 - Creating seasonal kitchen staff work schedules
 - Train, coach and supervise summer seasonal staff on kitchen duties
 
QUALIFICATIONS
- Alberta Health Services Food Safe Certification
 - Chef or Cook Certification
 - Understanding of food requirements for mountain activities
 - Flexible schedule to manage seasonal spikes
 - Computer skills
 - Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
