WORK PERFORMED
- Develop and revise written policy and procedure for area operations by applying current knowledge of applicable standards and liaising with key stakeholders to identify interdependencies and align or integrate related policies and procedures.
- Participate in revision of the operational service delivery model as required.
- Oversee and direct the activities of staff performing duties in the Formula Room, Milk Handling Room and BC Metabolic Nutrition Program (BCMNP).
- Complete ongoing performance monitoring and evaluation. Responsible for staff orientation, training and scheduling and participates in staff selection.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and in-services to identify and provide training on changes to policy and procedure.
- Communicate changes to identified stakeholders.
- Audit compliance to policy and procedure.
- Collaborate with the clinical stakeholders, supply chain, finance, and vendor representatives, and other parties as required, to establish and monitor contracts, purchasing, billing, and inventory.
- Collaborate with finance to complete period end budget monitoring, and annual budget reconciliation.
- Complete period end, quarterly, annual and ad hoc budget reports for individual cost centres as required.
- Develop action plans to respond to budget variances.
- Participate in budget planning for area cost centres.
- Collaborate with vendor representatives to troubleshoot problems related to purchasing, billing, and inventory.
- Assist HEU staff to troubleshoot problems between clinicians/clinical areas and Formula Room, Milk Handling Room, and BCMNP, and with product vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from an academic program in dietetics approved by the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
- Three (3) years recent, related clinical experience and recent related experience in business operations; One (1) year supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Full registration in the College of Dietitians of British Columbia, including Restricted Activity A.
