WORK PERFORMED
- In collaboration with the Director of Food and Beverage, the Food and Beverage Manager will ensure the standards for the Food and Beverage department are being upheld
- Set a tone of consummate professionalism for the department, ensuring the team is knowledgeable and consistent
- Be highly visible during meal periods, meeting and greeting members and guests in outlets and constantly engaging in quality checks to ensure satisfaction
- Ensure duties of all front of house Food and Beverage staff, including thorough mise-en-place and daily opening and closing duties, are being completed on a daily basis
- Be vigilant, ensuring areas are maintained, with regular cleaning schedules and inspections established
- Assist in the development of a training program and service standards for Food & Beverage staff
- Responsible for initiating training, coaching and performance management of Food and Beverage staff in consultation with the Director of Food & Beverage
- Take a leadership role in supporting activities driving staff and member engagement and recognition
- Assist in recruitment and onboarding of new employees as required
- Involved with and responsible for overseeing numerous events including assisting with administrative work relating to banquets and catering
- Develop promotions that will drive sales for the various food and beverage outlets
- Monitor new product launches, provide feedback on menus, and recommend changes as appropriate
- Have financial responsibilities such as payroll submission, cash-out procedures and annual budgeting
- Responsible for responding to member questions or requests both positive and negative
- Post-secondary education in the area of Food and Beverage or equivalent experience in Food and Beverage operations
- 2 years’ experience in a Food & Beverage management role
- 2 years’ experience in a high quality and high volume operation
- Proficient in Point of Sales software such as Jonas Software and Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience in private club/hotel environment an asset
- Experience managing in a unionized environment an asset
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written in English; ability to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels of the organization with both members and staff
- Superior organizational skills, detail oriented and able to effectively manage multiple priorities
