JOB SUMMARY

Position: Catering Manager
Company: Wedgewood Hotel & Spa
Job Location: Vancouver, BC
Salary estimated: $54,000 a year
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

WORK PERFORMED
  • This important role is responsible for the following responsibilities in support of the company’s vision and goals:
  • Solicit, negotiate and book new clients using multiple channels such as outside calls, telemarketing, emails & social media.
  • Required to contact existing clients on a pro-active basis it offer services and keep Wedgewood top of mind.
  • Works closely with Executive Chef, Food & Beverage Manager and General Manager to create unique and memorable events
  • Works closely with Director of Sales & Marketing and Revenue Manager to ensure optimal rooms revenue when booked with catering space
  • Responds to all booking inquiries same day via phone or email
  • Maintaining working relationship with contractors such as local AV, event rental and floral companies
  • Attends trade shows and other social events to promote the property Booking, Contracting and
  • The Catering Manager is responsible for all book in the following spaces for breakfast, lunch, brunch, afternoon tea, receptions, dinners, meetings and all other special events.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous Catering Sales or Banquet Sales experience
  • Strong Food & Beverage background as Department Head or Restaurant Manager
  • Previous upscale Hotel or Resort experience
  • Strong working knowledge of OPERA and MS Office. POS such as Squirrel or Micros
  • Strong written and verbal communication skill and exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player – works collaboratively
  • Works well under pressure, able to meet deadlines in a calm manner and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • This position requires a flexible schedule, available weekends and holidays
