Position: Food Service Manager

Salary range: $26.50 - $27.50 an hour
WORK PERFORMED
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of our cafeteria
- Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
- Recruit staff and oversee staff training
- Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
- Control inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed
- Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
- Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets or receptions.
- From time to time supervise the preparation and cooking of kosher food to the various schools and synagogues and private functions that we provide catered meals to
- English is required
- Spanish is an asset as most of the staff speak Spanish
- Kosher Food management knowledge and experience is required as the owner used to own a kosher restaurant in Vancouver and still has institutional customers who order his food to be prepared at their premises in their kosher kitchens.
- As our catered functions are often after hours and on weekends, weekend and shift work will be required
- Completion of a community college program in food service administration, hotel and restaurant management or related discipline or several years of experience in food preparation or service are required.
