WORK PERFORMED
- Coordinate and oversee all food & beverage services upcoming bookings including dining room, conference center and food delivery on RBC office floors.
- Work closely with Service Coordinator and catering on menu selection, coordinate special requests, food and beverage costs.
- Associates recruiting by opening requisitions, interview process, background check, assisting in training of new associates, ensuring everyone is well-groomed and wearing the proper attire.
- Assigning tasks to all servers and monitoring their work to ensure it’s carried out effectively. Ensuring the highest quality of service and standards are met. Promote teamwork and motivation for optimum service and that customers’ needs are met; disciplinary measure, leading to termination of personnel if necessary. Perform annual performance appraisal evaluations. Liase with Compass HR department.\
- Effective management of staffing, being aware of costs, establishing shifts and schedules for associates labour oversight, agencies requests if needed. Managing sick and maternity leaves, vacations and others for all Compass associates. Closing weekly payroll in E-Pay Liase with Compass payroll and benefits departments.
- Supervise all parameters that may affect the guests; experience, such as room’s temperature, lighting and overall appearance of dining rooms. Overlooking all R&M steps from requests to payment. AV support on site or requests through Group Plan. Facility requests for minor R&M and room setups. BEE Clean for overall cleanliness of rooms, furniture and equipment.
- Hands-on support for RBC event bookings ensuring service standards are maintained at all times. Includes confirming event specific details (i.e. meet with clients answering their questions. Floor plans, audio visual equipment and other rentals, menu details, wine pairing, décor when necessary).
- Purchasing such as liquor, smallware, office supplies, uniforms and performing inventories. Liase with all vendors for any issues.
- Manage all levels of operations, complaints, regular review of the degree of customer satisfaction and execution of action plans when necessary. Prepare daily and weekly events schedule. Help with service during breakfast, lunch, cocktail and dinner events and AV support
- Ensure strict application through monthly training and audits in work environment of Compass H&S and COVID procedures. PPE, First Aid kit orders and availability. Serving it Right Guidelines, RBC and building regulations.
- Perform all unit accounting tasks such as; annual budget and period forecast, credit card and expense reports, end of period reports and budget explanations, RBC daily chargebacks and invoicing to RBC accounting, weekly invoice processing.
- Principal contact in BC for RBC and Compass: communicate all necessary information through daily log report, to RBC Hospitality Services Managers and Compass Account Manager both in Toronto.
- Experience managing food and beverage, fine dining service – min 2-3 years
- Strong computer skills – Intermediate level with MS applications – Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
