WORK PERFORMED

• In keeping with the Covenant Health’s Mission and Values and as an integral member of the NFLES team, the NFLES Supervisor, is responsible for organizing and supervising the activities which support the provision of quality Hospitality services to patients/residents/customers. (Hospitality Services includes Food Services, Environmental Services, and Laundry, and may also include Portering, Materials Management, Mailroom, Audio Visual Services and Telecommunications.) 
• The Supervisor recruits, orientates, coordinates the training, supervises, evaluates and disciplines area employees. 
• The supervisor is responsible for monitoring operational targets and making adjustments in daily work to achieve those targets, ensuring safe work practices and ensuring the safe functioning of area equipment. 
• The supervisor leads and/or participates in departmental meetings and programs, and performs other duties as required. 
• Tasks are completed using electronic programs whenever available. 
• All tasks are to be completed with minimal supervision and following all applicable policies and standard operating procedures. This position is non-unionized.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of a two-year Food Service Management course or equivalent management training. Membership in CSNM.
• Grade 12 diploma. 
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a supervisory capacity in a unionized health care setting of significant size, complexity, and diversity. 
• Experience in employee scheduling, conducting customer satisfaction surveys and quality audits, customer relations. Food Safe Certificate. Note: an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
