WORK PERFORMED
- Reporting to the Manager, Business Services, the Business and Food Services Lead (BFS Lead) assists the Manager in supporting Business Services operations.
- The BFS Lead is responsible for: the efficient daily operation of Food Services/the Market, managing the day to day relationships with the food service vendors on campus, assisting with business development by sourcing, creating and maintaining relationships with food & beverage suppliers, purchasing and inventory controls; monitoring spending to align with department budgets; keeping statistical and financial records to communicate to department staff and leadership; coordinating product selection, menu approval and promotional event activities; coordinates business development and revenue generating opportunities to continue to grow the Business Services portfolio and revenue streams.
- The position provides support for and performs Market Attendant duties as required; limited food preparation; general support for Business Service duties as necessary and ensures the Food Services/The Market is maintained in a safe and sanitary condition.
- The BFS Lead supervises regular and non-regular Market Attendants and prioritizes duties on a daily basis. In addition, the BFS oversees the Market operations to maximize available resources and to achieve departmental goals, while ensuring the highest standards of customer service.
- Completion of a post-secondary degree in Business, Food & Beverage or Hospitality Management. 3 to 5 years related experience.
- Food and beverage industry experience preferably in a management or supervisory role or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Completion of Food Safe Level 1 and Level 2 or willingness to complete within 90 days of being hired.
