WORK PERFORMED
- The Dining Room Supervisor works under the direction of the Executive Chef, for assisting in the planning and delivery of quality resident focused meal service and for the functioning of the Food Service Department.
- Directs and supervises staff engaged in the provision of quality food services and the nutritional care of residents under sanitary conditions.
- Provides administrative support, supervision and training for all dietary staff, maintains and updates dining room procedures for all servers and ensures resident safety is a priority through all meal service.
- Act as a resident advocate and a change agent in the pursuit of continuous quality improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma; completion in diploma in Hospitality Management preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in leadership and coordinating and supervising dining room, kitchen staff and services, preferably in a seniors’ living facility.
- Certificate in Food and Beverage Nutritional Services is an asset.
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems software.
- WHMIS training.
- Food safety certificate required.
- Knowledge of Temperature control practices in food handling.
- Experience in interacting with cognitively challenged residents would be considered an asset.
- Intermediate Level proficiency in Microsoft office suite of products,(Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
- Driver’s License with clear Driver’s Abstract and access to vehicle.
