WORK PERFORMED
- As the Director of Catering & Events, you will be responsible for leading our teams that provide services in catering, all-inclusive club spaces (Edmonton Oilers games) as well as oversee our growing outdoor events business (Ice District Plaza & Fan Park).
- Teams consist of salaried managers, operational teams, administration/billing, and invoicing.
- Results are achieved through intelligent, professional, and practical communication, management, and leadership skills.
- Major areas of responsibility include leading operations, leaders, and the team; working in collaboration with peer departments you will manage execution of events, hiring, training and developing team members to driving high performing standards that deliver financial results and rave reviews!
- The Director of Catering & Events reports into the Assistant Director of Operations.
- Able to communicate effectively with management team, guests, and associates by speaking and comprehending English
- Has strong attention to detail
- Excellent leadership, coaching and supervisory abilities. Positive, energetic personality
- English reading, writing, math and computer skills required
- Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates
- Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts
- Possible job hazards include, but are not limited to; slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts and strains
- Must be able to reach, lift, stoop, bend and perform extensive standing and walking (including stairs) throughout shift given the nature of work environment
- Must be comfortable working inside and outside in the elements as business dictates
- Previous experience leading high volume food and beverage operations, catering and/or events
