WORK PERFORMED
  • In collaboration with Directors and Managers, plans, develops implements and evaluates short and long-range goals and objectives and operational opportunities in support of the identified strategic directions of the department and organization as a whole including new builds and redevelopment of site/facilities with a patient/resident focused approach.
  • Works with other members of the project leadership team to develop goals and objectives for special projects, ensuring plans are· consistent with and complement the organization's overall strategic plan. Establish detailed project charters, plans, and objectives to outline timelines and project deliverables.
  • Provides recommendations to the Director regarding strategic direction, new initiatives, business development, and partnership opportunities.
  • Supports overall goals for planning and implementing strategies to promote patient, and customer satisfaction, quality services, and effective processes. Monitors quantity and quality of services provided, identifies discrepancies, and follows-up as required.
  • Develops and establishes policies, strategies and operating objectives consistent with those of the Organization to ensure efficient and effective implementation of plans and services within the designated portfolio.
  • Executes project plan according to project methodologies, ensures successful and coordinated completion and evaluation of project components, facilitates consensus with user groups as needed, and ensures readiness for project implementation and maintains project timelines. Develops a process of evaluation for project outcomes, and provides data collection and analysis.
  • Tracks project progress according to project plan, monitors and reports on the status of projects and major issues/obstacles encountered. Makes recommendations regarding project scope changes.
  • Acts as a resource to the department by supporting the day-to-day operations of Food Services at the site(s), providing ad hoc .management support to ensure compliance with departmental commitments. Provides support and mentorship to leaders at various sites.
  • Assumes responsibility for leadership and operational oversight of FH Food Services at specific sites in the absence of the site manager(s) as required.
  • Contributes to the implementation of effective processes to ensure operational and/or project success and to assess potential risks, identify risk mitigation strategies and monitor risk within the operations environment and/or throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Partners with clinical user groups to foster a cohesive relationship with clinical services to ensure departmental and clinical operations priorities are effectively managed within a patient/ resident centered model of care.
  • Discusses timelines for project and directs work of team members as applicable to project. Ensures team members receive applicable orientation and/or training.
  • Engages in recruitment, selection, hiring, performance evaluation and performance management of staff as required up to and including termination.
  • Manages and monitors project budget and liaises with the Director (or designate) on variances and/or other issues.
  • Ensures accurate and timely communications to user groups. Provides regular status reports to project leadership including reporting on milestones.
  • Plans and executes handover to operational teams at the conclusion of the project.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Service Nutrition Management, Dietetics or Nutrition and 
  • Current registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia or Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) plus 
  • Seven (7) years' recent, related experience that includes three (3) years of leadership experience in food services management and managing medium to large projects, preferably directly with health1care organizations. 
  • Project management certification, training, and/or experience is an asset. 
  • Retail food service operations management is an asset.
