Job salary: $60,000 - $70,000 a year
WORK PERFORMED
- Lead the organization and execution of casual dining, formal dining events, private functions, take-out, Club events, and staff dining.
- Responsible for monitoring staffing levels for all dining, events, and private functions in accordance with forecasted levels of business and with consideration of strict labour cost control and minimal overtime.
- Manage beverage costs and inventory levels.
- Work with the Food and Beverage Manager to develop and maintain an exciting and evolving beverage program.
- Ensure consistent execution of steps of service and assist when required.
- Conduct regular daily staff briefings.
- Regularly communicate withstaff with respect to procedures, promotions, upcoming events, etc.
- Provides leadership, direction, and motivation to the team.
- Ensure all staff consistently abide by Standard Operating Procedures as outlined by the Management team.
- Responsible for training new employees and ongoing training of existing employees.
- Respond and follow up on staff concerns.
- Respond and follow up on Member concerns, complaints, and compliments.
- Counsel, guide, and direct staff in a fair and consistent manner following the steps of progressive discipline when required.
- Assist in beverage costing for events, private functions, Club events, and staff dining.
- Attend and contribute to weekly Food & Beverage Manager meetings.
- Research the market and industry for specialty products, current trends, and new beverage ideas.
- Responsible for cleanliness and organization of the Bar and storage areas.
- Communicate with other Managers to proactively plan for upcoming events with respect to staffing, product requirements, décor, etc.
- Work closely with the Events Manager to carefully coordinate all events. Assist with managing and executing Banquet & Dining experiences.
- Report maintenance and repair needs to the Facilities Manager
- Assist with marketing ideas for casual dining, formal dining events, private functions, and Club events.
- Proactively search and make recommendations to improve quality, efficiency, and service, increase revenue and reduce costs.
- Follow local and provincial laws with respect to Health & Safety.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Five years of experience in the restaurant/hotel/club industry
- Two years of experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager or Supervisor
- Experience in casual, fine dining and banquet environments
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Pleasant, positive, and responsive manner
- Proactive and results-oriented
- Flexibility in work hours
- Available to work major holidays and weekends
