WORK PERFORMED

• Reporting to the Food Services Team Leader (FSTL), the Food Services Team Leader Assistant is responsible for assisting and supporting the FSTL with the day-to-day operations, supervision and management of the Food Services Department.
• implementing therapeutic interventions to address nutritional needs of facility residents;
• implementation of quality dietetic services for facility residents;
• ensuring the provision of food services that are of the highest possible quality and demonstrate value to Intercare and all our customers.
• With the FSTL, the incumbent will provide leadership and hands-on assistance to ensure all aspects of food services are planned, organized, delivered, and evaluated in accordance with Intercare's mission, vision, values and strategic plan. 
• The incumbent works in close partnership with the facility’s Dietitian and other managers and staff to assist in maximizing the performance of individuals, teams and the organization as a whole in providing the best possible customer service to our residents, families, guests and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Brings a caring, compassionate and empathetic approach while having an ability to lead a team in providing a unique and meaningful dining experience for residents each and every meal.
• Successful completion of a recognized Food and Nutrition Management program and/or a Hospitality Management program or equivalent.
• Completion of a recognized Food Safe course.
• A minimum of two - five years management experience, preferable within a long term care environment, and inclusive of Food Services Management.
• Previous experience in institutional/commercial cooking an asset
