WORK PERFORMED

  • Support in the development and implementation of the organizations: policies, procedures, goals, programs and services consistent with the short and long-range strategic plan to achieve business plan objectives.
  • Oversee the management of operational services, adherence to government regulations, and programs which support the organization.
  • Support in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to optimize growth opportunities including new business, additional service offerings, expansion, and exceptional customer service to maintain and grow the business.
  • Ensure compliance with programs in marketing, human resources, IT, OH&S and RED to support merchandising and business strategies.
  • Establish and implement opportunities and gaps that drive the organization to new levels and maximize return to its members.
  • Identification of new systems processes, marketing initiatives that can be implemented to achieve efficiencies in the daily operation of the business. Including and not limited to, Store Visit Reports, Scorecards, Financial Statement Reviews by Centers Managers each Period, Center specific action plans for improvement.
  • Manage and coordinate annual operations budget objectives in the areas of sales, margins, expenses, shrink, labour, profits, EHP, facilities and associated fixed assets.
  • Ensure Centre Managers, maintain adherence of association policies and procedures and government regulations in the areas of: food safety, sanitation, product labeling, product handling, product pricing, stock control, up-to-date centre price files for price accuracy and integrity, maintenance, and safety of all Association’s assets.
  • Promote the development of professional community and business building relationships through networking with suppliers and community representatives.
  • Visit assigned Centers at least every two weeks and non-assigned Centers at least twice a year.
  • Providing detailed store visit reports for recognition, coaching, teaching, mentoring; and specific store actions for business improvement; partnering with the Center Managers.
  • Succession planning to be established through the areas of leadership, coaching, mentoring, recruitment, training, and performance management to develop current and future leaders.
  • Provide leadership and direction while upholding confidentiality in all lines of business including the administration of the policies and procedures for the company.
  • Participate in the development and action of yearly competency performance work plan and development action plan.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Food Safety including participate in HSE activities, ensuring employees are knowledgeable about and comply with HSE and Food Safety policies, procedures, and legislation. Assist in identifying unhealthy, unsafe situations and ensure corrective action is taken.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of retail management experience
  • 3 years of experience leading multiple commodity groups
  • 3 years of project management experience
  • Ability to manage multiple budgets
  • Strong business acumen and people leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards common goals.
