WORK PERFORMED
  • The Manager of PFS will model a team-based approach, balancing their exceptional communication, critical thinking, and transformational leadership skills with a strategic, results-based focus. 
  • Responsibilities of the Manager will include, but are not limited to: prioritizing and executing activities indicated in NFLES' operational and strategic plan, in support of AHS' vision, mission and strategic objectives; 
  • Leading teams in planning, implementing, and evaluating high-quality, customer-focused food service delivery solutions, to support optimal patient outcomes; 
  • Managing and controlling the allocation of department resources (financial, human, material, and physical) to ensure cost-effective measures are implemented that align with established key performance indicators; 
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with site administration, and collaborating with patients, staff and other stakeholders, to research and assess process improvement opportunities that mitigate potential disruptions to operations, address gaps in service delivery and meet patient expectations; 
  • Developing and coaching employees, including leadership staff and dietetic interns, and empowering growth through knowledge, skills, and capability advancement; 
  • and establishing strategies to monitor site compliance with relevant & required zone, provincial and national standards & processes. 
  • Subsequently, proven time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple priorities at one time, will be critical.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Nutrition and Food or Food Service Management or Certified Nutrition Manager, or recognized equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 5 years in a health care food service leadership role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Financial management experience with direct accountability of 3+ million operating budget.
