WORK PERFORMED
- Provides leadership and manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services in support of strategic BCCDC priorities and Ministry mandates.
- Manages a diversity of programs/services/related projects of varying scope including Provincial Dairy Inspections and food related outbreak response and investigations in a complex and changing multidisciplinary environment, and with a diversity of partners and stakeholders.
- Maintains responsibility for ensuring that programs, services and related projects are completed in adherence to project protocols/ charters/ agreements, timelines, applicable institutional and ethical policies and procedures, and applicable legislation.
- Collaborates with EHS leadership, other members of the team, BCCDC service lines and with support from Project Managers and other staff as applicable, for the development, implementation, and evaluation of food safety programs and services. Collaborates to conduct research in support of BCCDC’s provincial mandate.
- Manages the identification, collection and analysis of relevant information/ evidence relating to current programs, services and related projects, and synthesizes findings in order to effectively integrate these into the development, implementation, analysis, dissemination of findings, and policy/practice implications of strategic programs and initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Food Safety, Environmental Health or related field
- Minimum of (7) years recent and related experience in food or environmental health program management or an equivalent combination of education , experience and training, including two (2) years at a leadership level.
