Food Service Supervisor - Children & Women's Hospital - Vancouver

Hiring Location: BC Children’s & Women’s Hospital (Vancouver, BC)
Pay Rate: $19.00 to 22.00/hr (depending on experience)
Job Status: Casual

Duties & Qualifications:
  • Assist the Shift Managers to supervise multiple food service units.
  • Coordinate frequent workplace inspections and WHMIS training of all staff and promptly report any workplace accident or incident to head office.
  • Maintain excellent client and customer relations.
  • Complete required administrative paperwork.
  • Oversee a team of food service workers.
  • Ensure smooth running of diet office processes.
  • Input diet orders and care plans.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with Compass’ Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Member of CSNM or eligible for CSNM membership.
  • Graduate in Food & Nutrition management.
  • FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
  • Comprehensive health and safety knowledge and training.
  • Knowledge of food service catering.
  • Strong supervisory skills and the capability to motivate and lead staff.
  • Employee relations experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must be knowledgeable in some type of Nutrition Software e.g. CBORD, Computrition, Meditech, Vision etc.
  • Experience in Unionized environment is an asset
