Hope for the Nations is seeking a Program Coordinator who will be responsible for supporting both the program delivery and volunteer coordination for our local Food for Thought Program.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic, self-motivated and experienced Program Coordinator who reports directly to and will work in partnership with the Executive Director of Hope for the Nations.
Interaction:
This position will interact closely with members from across the organization, local community, volunteers and SD23 staff. This position may provide information to donors, potential donors, individuals in need, volunteers, HOPE Board and staff, and others from the community.
Qualifications:
- Strong background and understanding of financials, budgeting and reporting skills is required.
- Knowledge, expertise and experience in fund development, including but not limited to fund development, seeking out grant opportunities, writing grants and ensuring a flawless grant tracking and reporting system is required.
- Written and communication skills; strong interpersonal, planning and training skills; organized, systems-thinker with experience in program coordination.
- Competent computer and Social Media skills and use of programs as Word, Excel, Power Point, and related programs necessary.
- Comfortable with recruiting, training and overseeing a volunteer team.
- Flexible team player and collaborator, ability to work well with a variety of people, strong public presence, ability to handle multiple projects well. Bachelor’s Degree and experience in the non-profit community for a minimum of 2 years is considered an asset.

- Oversee all programs and nutrition to ensure that the goals and objectives of each program are met.
- Act as a primary point of contact for schools, kitchen/packing facility, school site coordinators and program partners.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with school and other program partners.
- Recruit, train and manage volunteers.
- Develop and implement content and social media strategy.
- Coordinate school orders, pick up, packing and delivery schedule for weekly distributions.
- Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings as scheduled.
- Evening or weekend work as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Knows and follows all safety and sanitary rules and regulations related to food handling.
- Must either have or be willing to take Food Safe Level 1
- Must have their own smoke free vehicle.
- Must be comfortable with lifting, sorting and packing food items.
