Job Description

We are looking for a Casual (on call) Diet Technician for Children's and Women's Hospital. The position is casual, but there is lots of opportunity to gain management and diet tech experience. Training will be provided to become proficient in the roles. A great opportunity for those who are CSNM eligible or CSNM members.

Shifts: 6:30 am - 6:30 pm - Based on vacation coverage and operational support. Shifts can include some weekdays/weekends

Hours Per Week: it varies
Pay Rate: $22/hour
Duties
  • Maintain excellent client and customer relations.
  • Complete required administrative paperwork.
  • Oversee a team of food service workers.
  • Ensure smooth running of diet office processes
  • Input diet orders and care plans
  • Ensuring strict compliance with Compass’ Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.

Qualifications

  • Member of CSNM or eligible for CSNM membership.
  • Graduate in Food & Nutrition management.
  • Previous working experience in a food service unit is an asset.
  • Must be knowledgeable in some type of Nutrition Software e.g. CBORD, Computrition, Meditech, Vision etc.
  • Diet Technician must have knowledge of a Nutrition software as associate will be in the Diet Office and not in the kitchen.
  • Previous supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Experience in Unionized environment is an asset.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of CBORD software.
  • Computer literate.
