JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager of Support Services this position is responsible for supervising and supporting staff as well as assisting the Manager and staff with administrative tasks such as audits for compliance within the food service, housekeeping and laundry departments. The Support Service Supervisor is exceptionally organized with a good understanding of computer programs, ordering supplies, and inventory controls. This position must have the ability to create spreadsheets, organize files, and update relevant information for various departments under the direction of the manager. As a leader, this position will have a general knowledge of policies and procedures within these departments.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides assistance to the Manager of Support Services.
- Supervises staff and provides support to team members within the various departments.
- Assists with staff education, training and evaluation as required.
- Updates weekly menu binders, organizes and files all relevant documentation.
- Inputs and updates resident information for diet program, dining and nourishment lists, seating charts, laundry and housekeeping information lists.
- Assists with staff scheduling where required.
- Orders supplies, assists with storage and inventory measures.
- Performs audits for manager review.
- Assists with special projects, quality assurance initiatives, catering, and research.
- Follows all safety practices and procedures.
- Participates in staff meetings and education sessions.
- Completes education assigned in Surge Learning.
- Assists with coordinating resident room transfers, admissions and discharges within the facility.
- Acts as a leader with health and safety, including but not limited to: sits on the Joint Health & Safety Committee, ensures for department safety training including WHMIS, develops safe work procedures, participates in site inspections and investigations, and assists with tracking and training for employees.
EDUCATION
- Valid food safe certification.
- Current WHIMS certificate.
- Previous supervisory experience (min 1 year)
- Previous experience in healthcare support service departments (min 3 years)
