Job Description
Now, if you were to come on board as our Food Services Director (Retail), we’d ask you to do the following for us:
  • You will be responsible for all financial and operational aspects of the retail food services & catering operations including the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of all activities within the departments to ensure that all areas are compliant and maintaining standards of quality of services as required by any applicable provincial or federal law as per Compass Group Canada standards.
  • You will control all personnel, including Assistant Managers, Supervisors and associates within the departments as well as all operational costs including food costs, labour cost, paper cost, chemical costs, direct costs and other expenses incurred within the departments.
  • You will oversee, supervise and delegate responsibilities and duties to others in the departments as needed to maintain operational excellence
  • You will ensure that the departments are compliant and meeting the requirements of all local and federal laws and Company standards, policies and procedures relating to all Health and Food Safety practices
  • You will manage the day to day performance of the operations and make continued improvements to service and product standards as required
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of inventory and procurement for the catering and retail food services departments, ensuring that all products meet specifications
You will oversee the implementation, updates and maintenance of the Catering website
Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years in an intermediate food service management role (QSR)
  • Proven excellence in financial management
  • Proven excellence in supervising/purchasing/scheduling/administration of day to day operations in a high volume operation (healthcare environment preferred)
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent customer and client relationship skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong supervisory, leadership and coaching skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong organization/time management
  • Attention to detail
  • Helpful/positive attitude
  • Creative, Analytical and Strategic thinker
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • You have an energetic, outgoing, and proactive approach.
  • FoodSafe Certification
Assets:
  • Food Safe and/or Advanced Food Safe Level II
  • Excellent marketing/display skills for catering and retail operations
  • Strong culinary background and ability
