We are seeking a motivated professional to join our leadership team with an emphasis on the continued growth of our high volume Food and Beverage department. The ideal candidate will have a focus on establishing and maintaining a healthy employee culture; with a creative, innovative, hands on approach to leadership. The Food and Beverage Manger is a key member of the senior management team with a continuous focus on improving the Guest experience and ensuring business success.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for all Food and Beverage operations. Various amenities include the Base Camp Café, Summit Eatery,  Co - Pilot Café, Ledge Bar, Bodhi’s Snack Shack, Ice Cream Shack (2), BBQ’s and Catering for weddings and events. We can serve over 2,000 guests a day through our outlets and styles of service. Our commitment to quality, safety and sound financial returns is resolute.   • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate all Food and Beverage operations (multiple locations/outlets)
  • Manage all day to day Food and Beverage operations while striving toward the long term objectives of the company
  • Formulate, review and implement and monitor operational budgets with the General Manager and Finance Manager to ensure profitability while working within the budgetary constraints
  • Maintain aggressive financial returns while providing good value to our guests.
  • Support the GM in capital planning for maintenance of existing infrastructure as well as planning and building for the future
  • Possess a hands on approach to leadership, stepping into front line operations as needed
  • Attend weekly operations meetings to facilitate strong, clear communication and interaction between the mountain operations and all other services and amenities.
  • Work closely with the Sales, Catering, and Events Teams in order to drives sales and profitability of our wedding, events and Group Sales
  • Maximize the revenues of the Food and Beverage operation while minimizing operating costs
  • Oversee the monthly inventory count and manage discrepancies
  • Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders: Guests, management, team members and vendors
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, occupational health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Interact closely with both the Sales and Marketing and Catering team to ensure successful execution of all weddings, events and group sales
  • Ensure the standards of both food service and production are consistently high, and develop, innovate and deliver a product mix which is quality driven
  • Uphold existing vendor relationships and establish new connections to provide consistent, high quality food products
  • Provide seasonal and year round recruiting needs to Human Resources in a timely manner; ensuring staffing levels reflect business needs and budgetary guidelines
  • Coordinate training programs applicable to the needs of the Food and Beverage department
  • Mentor, coach and train all levels within the Food and Beverage department, including Supervisors, Leads, and new/front line team members (front of house, back of house, production, culinary  shipping/receiving and cleaning teams)
  • Monitor daily staffing levels to meet budgetary and business needs
  • Oversee the Culinary team to review training, food costing and portion control
  • Oversee the Cleaning Team, ensuring the cleanliness of the Food and Beverage facilities, outlets and buildings
  • Oversee the Shipping and Receiving Team to monitor products being ordered, delivered and food storage in in compliance with FoodSafe requirements
  • Conduct field inspections and audits of all Food and Beverage personnel to ensure proper work procedures being followed
  • Develop performance objectives and deliver performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Assist department Supervisors in motivating and disciplining team members. Always leading by example and providing regular feedback to Supervisors, ensuring that structure is in place for all team members under the Food and Beverage department receive regular feedback and coaching during their employment
  • Work closely with Department Managers to maintain team morale, ensure operational efficiency at all times, and to achieve the highest service quality and responsiveness to our guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous leadership experience in a high volume, multi outlet food service operation
  • Excellent training and guest service skills and a minimum of 10 years’ experience managing and mentoring a large team(s)
  • Proven record for achieving results through strategic and long-term planning skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven leadership abilities
  • Excellent communications skills, self motivated, mature, dependable, timely and able to work well with others
  • Previous experience and understanding of business needs in the tourism sector
  • Proven track record of driving the profitability of Food & Beverage operations
  • Diploma or degree in business managements in the tourism field an asset
  • Previous POS experience (Centaman, Touch Bistro) an asset
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft products (word, excel, outlook…)
  • Evening, weekend and holiday availability required
  • Serving It Right certificate required
  • Kitchen/Chef experience an asset
