We are currently seeking highly motivated, service-oriented individuals to join the Banqueting Department for full-time BANQUET EVENTS SUPERVISOR positions. Our Banqueting team goes above and beyond to ensure our clients’ food service experience is second to none. Whether a banquet for thousands or a meeting for two, we are passionate about providing friendly and professional service to our guests and visitors.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Director of Service Operations and Banquet Managers, the Banquet Events Supervisors are responsible for:

  • Taking a leadership role in directing the banquet team to effectively service all banquet activities.
  • Confirming all relevant and up to date information about assigned events, including taking an active role in a successful pass over from the Catering Sales team, in order to ensure a successful event.
  • Being the primary point of contact for our clients throughout each event, providing them with the highest standard of service and proactively ensuring their needs are met at all times.
  • Training and coaching servers on our high quality service standards and procedures and being responsible for performance management as necessary.
  • Assisting the Managers with controlling of costs such as labour.
  • Ensure accurate billing for the functions worked.
  • Complete post-event reports and update managers on client feedback and employee concerns.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years prior Food & Beverage supervisory experience in a large-scale, busy hotel or convention centre is preferred, or other similar operations.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, as well as advanced interpersonal skills to connect with guests and clients and to direct, coach and motivate employees.
  • Computer proficiency specifically in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong decision making, time management, and ability to resolve issues as they arise.
  • A proven team player with strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good physical condition to stand for long periods and walk long distances throughout our large facility during each shift.
  • Desire to learn and grow in our business and support our positive work environment.

SHIFTS AND HOURS:

Scheduling flexibility is required to meet operations needs and shift start and end times vary with different events. The position requires working early morning, late evening, weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required.
