Status: Full Time, Extended Seasonal Position

Start Date: October 2020

The Nordic Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the F&B department
in the Nordic Area of Cypress Mountain. This includes the Hollyburn Lodge and the Nordic Café. This
person must be committed to delivering and maintaining the highest quality of customer service and
food preparation/delivery standards for both the lodge and café.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to the following): 

  • Travel 1km to and from the Hollyburn Lodge by cross country ski or snowshoe (with appropriate
    clothing for the weather) 
  • Maintain positive guest relations by ensuring efficient, quality service and products 
  • Caters to guest needs and handles complaints in a pleasant and helpful manner 
  • Hire employees, conduct training and schedule all F & B staff 
  • Coordinate and supervise activities of employees and supervisory personnel 
  • Order food, ensure stock rotation, complete monthly inventories 
  • Maintain cleanliness of the F&B department and ensure proper storage of all food and
    equipment 
  • Maintain a food safe environment at all times 
  • Ensure workers are properly trained and follow set safety procedures at all times 
  • Consolidate and verify daily sales reports; cash handling and payroll edit reports 
  • Complete monthly food inventory


QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES: 

  • Experience working on kitchen lines 
  • A passion for cooking, creativity, and nourishing our guests with quality menu items 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Effective leadership skills in a fast paced environment managing multiple tasks 
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment 
  • Must be able to work weekends & holidays. Overtime during high volume periods may be
    required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 yrs. experience in a food service supervisory or management role
  • FOODSAFE Level 2 
  • Line cook experience 
  • Serving It Right 
  • Completion of a food service administration, hotel or restaurant management course is an
  • asset


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

  • Must be able to legally work in Canada 
    Valid BC Driver’s license with reliable and insured vehicle to get to/from work
