Job pay range: $31.31–$35.46 an hour
WORK PERFORMED
- Manage daily operations of food production including menu planning, purchasing/ordering, inventory, food preparation, and cost management
- Manage financials for the food program including labour cost, food cost, inventory, equipment, and materials
- Develops and implements financial administration and control procedures in coordination with the Society’s Controller. Monitors and authorizes program expenditures within delegated authority limits and maintains financial records in accordance to established procedures.
- Provides input to the management team in the preparation of the Society’s annual budget.
- Supervise, mentor, and monitor kitchen team and evaluate performance to ensure a high level of productivity and the best use of team member capabilities
- Recruiting, conducting interviews, selecting and hiring staff.
- Establish operating standards, implement quality improvements
- Establish and maintain business relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Promote and assist in the marketing of the food program to both internal and external audiences, donor relationships and recognition.
- Constant analysis of the food service program; identifying efficiencies and areas of opportunity within our food service operations
- Meet and collaborate with client initiatives to progress agreed upon efforts and provide feedback
- Ensure compliance of all TPCS standards and Provincial/Federal Legislation
- Ensure compliance to all Food Safety, Food System Management and TPCS Policies and Procedures
- Participates in Leadership Team meetings, weekly team huddle meetings and professional development sessions.
- 3-5 years working with operations, finance, inventory, financial statements experience at the managerial/supervisory level
- Proven success in managing food services operations in a busy setting
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Red Seal Certified is an asset
- Experience with office administration required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft365 software required
- Strong ability to manage and promote a safe work environment and lead a safety culture
- Effective planning, organizing, and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to select and develop people
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems
