Work Performed:
- Monitor kitchen procedures related to production and quality to ensure production procedures are being followed correctly by the culinary team
- Monitor kitchen procedures to ensure correct ingredient and food weights are being followed that meet accurate nutritional requirements
- Effective implementation, monitoring and maintenance of the company’s Food Safety and Quality Systems, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), policies and procedures, programs and controls
- Lead the on-going development of recipes and menus with our culinary and nutrition team, researching and bringing forward current/new trends, processes and ingredients to the table
- Controls recipes by weighing and measuring designated ingredients
- Innovating recipes and products to achieve annual innovation calendar and performance goals
- Continuously working to improve meals based on customer feedback
- Support QA standards and shelf life evaluations to ensure product quality and safety
- Understand the breadth of our customer base and their varying needs to help inform R&D; and a menu that applies to multiple customer personas
- Ensuring efficiency across all stations and team members
- Continuously optimizing Fed’s production processes
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a commercial food/recipe product developer
- 2+ years of experience working in food production/manufacturing - ideally with experience in large-scale food production equipment/processes
- Nutrition education/experience
- Red Seal designation (or equivalent)
- HAACP and/or CFIA experience
- Foodsafe Level 2
- Comfortable with technology
