Work Performed:
- Exhibits culinary talents by performing day-to-day tasks, producing key menu items, while leading the staff
- Assume the leadership role to manage a kitchen as well as team members
- Delivers the highest standards of food quality, consistency and efficiency
- Control Labour and operating expenses through effective planning, budgeting and purchasing decisions.
- Ensure proper health, food safety and hygiene standards and policies are followed by team members
- Recruit, train, coach and develop staff to deliver a positive and performance-motivated employee culture
- Evaluate quality of food product, prep items and final menu items being served to guests
- Actively monitor kitchen operations and cleanliness
- Adhere to all guidelines, policies, rules and regulations;
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous work experience as a kitchen manager
- Professional diploma or food services management preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of cooking experience required.
- Certified food handler certificate required
- Ability to manage a kitchen with a high level of attention to detail, hospitality and fun- winning mindset and enthusiastic personality.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation required.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Highly effective teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
