WORK PERFORMED
- Provides executive-level leadership, including strategic direction and partnerships in the design, development, and implementation of the FNHA model of primary health care, with a vision of fully integrating other services and initiatives as required.
- Provide executive-level leadership and strategic advisory in operational, quality improvement, sustainable, change management and evaluation of the FNHA models of primary health care to, FNHA professional staff, Regional Executive Directors, and in collaboration with other FNHA teams and provincial health system partners.
- Provide executive-level leadership and management including the development of standards, processes, and annual work plans.
- Provide executive-level leadership in support of building and maintaining a respectful and collaborative relationship that is culturally safe with the FNHC and FNHDA and community.
- Provide executive-level leadership in support of building culturally safe, respectful, and collaborative relationships with key health systems and academic partners locally, provincially, and nationally.
- Collaborate with Directors and other Senior Executives to evolve policy development including drafting policy amendments, directive, and procedures. Establishes and implements tools and mechanisms to monitor policy implementation and compliance.
- Monitor and evaluate overall departmental performance against goals deliverables as established by the senior executive responsible for Primary Health Care and related initiatives in all strategies and work plans, and then makes recommendations to the senior executive responsible for Primary Health Care.
- Establish and institutionalize operational efficiency within the First Nations Health Benefits Department through implementation of innovative practices, standardized processes, and efficient systems.
- Play key collaboration function with other Executive Directors and senior executive members.
- Collaborate to establish targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for all reporting areas within the Department. Monitors and maintains the performance through ongoing progress against planned objectives, highlight concerns and takes corrective action as necessary to ensure results are achieved.
- Manage and provide leadership to direct reports, who are at Director level, including all areas of HR management including but not limited to job profiling, resourcing (staffing & recruitment), learning and development and performance management.
- Manage financial resources for the team in alignment with FNHA financial policy and practice.
- Performs other related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A university degree with a relevant specialization or an acceptable combination of education training and experience.
- Relevant, recent and significant experience in the provision of senior level strategic and operational planning (normally acquired over 10 years or more of related work).
- Relevant, recent and significant experience providing leadership to and partnering with senior level management on projects, initiatives, and collaborative (normally acquired over 15 years or more of related work).
- Experience in providing leadership to internal and external relationships.
- Experience leading and managing major projects.
- Experience working with First Nation leadership and interest groups.
