Regional Director, Culinary Services - Metro Vancouver

JOB SUMMARY

Position: Regional Director, Culinary Services, BC & Alberta

Job Location: Metro Vancouver Regional District, BC
Job Type: Full-time

Work Performed:
  • Support culinary programs and services to ensure the highest resident satisfaction, team member engagement and operational excellence.
  • Lead and support projects in Dining Room and Bistro Excellence
  • Support newly opened Amica residences with the selection and onboarding of new culinary talent
  • Support the planning for VIP and grand opening events
  • Ensuring compliance with Amica culinary standards through regular QAA visits and follow up
  • Support, coach and educate culinary leaders on how to optimize food and labour budgets
  • Act as a Champion of our strong culture of culinary and customer service for our residents, families and team members
  • Support the culinary team with quarterly menu planning
  • Ensure prioritization of capex spending for each residence
  • Be an innovator and support implementation of new technology as required
  • Support team member engagement and workforce planning at the residences

Qualifications:
  • Degree or diploma in culinary, hospitality or restaurant management
  • Red Seal Certified or foreign equivalent
  • Food safety and Smart Serve certificate, ServSafe training an asset
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a culinary management role combined with Conference Centre, Banquet, Hotel or high-end restaurant experience
  • Experience in the retirement industry strongly preferred
  • Highly skilled in in menu costing, menu planning
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to interpret provincial food service regulations
  • Comfort with technology and various software applications such as Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Yardi, etc.)
  • Collaborative in nature and excels at building highly effective relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to influence teams to achieve outcomes/goals.
  • Ability to scale operations to meet demanding environment and/or growing organization.
  • Ability to flex work schedule to work evenings, weekends and days as needs arise.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and the ability to travel frequently within BC/AB
