WORK PERFORMED

- Supports the overall operations and highest quality of care for our residents.
- Accepts and participates in the Leadership On-Call responsibilities as assigned by Facility Leader/Designate.
- Planning, organizing, controlling, coordinating, directing and evaluating Dietary Performance
- Establishes and implements methods to monitor and control budgets..
- Ensures the provision of high quality resident care.
- Demonstrates accountability for effective and efficient use of human resources.
- Facilitates education within the Department.
- Provides leadership that fosters personal and professional development.
- Facilitates research-based practice within the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of five years’ management experience, preferable within a long term care environment, and inclusive of Food Services Management.
- Previous experience in institutional/commercial cooking an asset.
- Minimum of successful completion of a recognized Food and Nutrition Management program and/or a Hospitality Management program or equivalent.
- Completion of a recognized Food Safe course.
- Brings a warm smile with not only an ability to brighten up a room, but to lead a team in providing a unique and meaningful dining experience for residents each and every meal.
- Able to work flexible hours as required.
- Able to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication (verbal and written), problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Displays initiative, self-direction, and flexibility.
- Demonstrates good leadership skills, including the ability to guide other personnel in acquiring skills and knowledge, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, developing innovative approaches to practice and facilitating organizational change.
- Demonstrates concern and interest in providing a safe and attractive environment for facility customers (i.e. residents, guests and staff).
