WORK PERFORMED
- Maximize Sodexo Live!’s revenue and operational excellence through execution of systems and policies related to administrative operations. Monitor and control productivity and payroll on a daily basis to ensure budgets and goals are consistently achieved. Provide labour forecasts and continually monitor labour performance.
- Collaborating with the managers and supervisors to ensure appropriate staffing levels for events, keeping them informed of any schedule changes.
- Coordinating the onboarding of new employees in collaboration with HR and other department managers.
- Provides leadership and direction to banquets catering employees to deliver a customer service in accordance with Sodexo Live! standards and policies.
- Producing a draft weekly schedule working with employee availabilities, business levels, event requirements and working within budgeted labour costs.
- Comprise staff memos/newsletter and organize and participate in staff meetings to facilitate effective exchange of information throughout the entire office.
- Ensure compliance in responsible alcohol service, Worksafe BC and all applicable health and safety regulations at all events while maintaining up to date records of all pertinent licenses and supporting documentation.
- Ensure that all Staff is in proper uniform and that all are well groomed.
- As part of the management team, strongly and positively influences team collaboration within Service Operations and between other departments and the Facility at all times.
- Contributes to goal of making Sodexo Live! #1 in Event Hospitality and the #1 Employer of Choice through personal commitment and leading by example.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree and/or appropriate combination of education and work experience to facilitate on-the-job effectiveness.
- Minimum of 3 years of previous Food and Beverage Supervisory/Management experience or Office Administration experience preferably in a large-scale hotel or high-quality convention centre.
- Exceptional computer skills and familiarity with various software applications with a focus on property management systems such as a Banquet Event Order Software.
- Possess the ability to implement strategies to identify inefficiencies and lead a change initiatives strategy to meet the administrative goals of the department.
- Confident with numbers as you will be responsible for financial requisitions, department invoicing and reconciliations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills are a must.
- Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management; Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts.
- Success in executing a scheduling program for 100+ employees is required.
- Must have unwavering and exceptional service delivery standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Self-starter who can work independently and, on several tasks and projects simultaneously, and who can contribute to functional areas of the business outside of the finance area.
- Initiative in identifying and resolving problems timely and effectively.
- Serving It Right and Food Safe Certification.
